Marine SurveysA marine survey is like requesting a detailed home inspection prior to purchasing a new house. Steve walks the requestor of the survey thru every inch of the vessel. Completing an exhaustive checklist of facts about your boat (i.e. serial numbers, system and engine inventories, hull & deck inspections, electrical standards, etc.), inspecting each system for failure, maintenance needs, structural integrity, or replacement recommendation, Steve will diagnose the condition of your vessel and offer recommendations in line with his years of experience and training as a marine surveyor, vessel maintenance and management technician following ABYC standards, and USCG certified Master; as well as his experiences through his own personal, 28 year boating career.
Most lending institutions and insurers require a marine survey to be performed prior to financing a loan or insuring the vessel; however, pro-active Captains request these services to know exactly what they can expect upon the purchase of a new or used boat. Steve's surveys are accepted by all financial and insurance institutions, and as a member of SAMS (Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors) I follow a strict ethical code of conduct, and is required to update my skills and knowledge with continuous education.
